Cinnamon Spice
It’s been a long quest but I’ve finally found it – somewhere in Lancashire that does a good paratha bread.
After a walk on Silverdale beach, we popped into Cinnamon Spice where I chose a bahari fish bhuna (£9.45), while my partner Ben stuck to his staple chicken rogan josh (£6.15) with mushroom rice (£2.65). We added a portion of vegetable samosas (£3.15) and the much-anticipated paratha (£2.15).

Hide AdMy fish bhuna was just the job – good-sized chunks of white fish marinated in a well-spiced, tomato-filled sauce. Ben nodded his approval of an appropriately hot rogan josh – he’s only happy when a curry makes his eyes water and this one did – with well-cooked hunks of chicken, done tikka-style. However, the samosas were rather small and easily snaffled in one mouthful.
And the paratha? Happily, it was soft, sweet and perfect for mopping up the curry juices. A little slice of India I didn’t expect to find in rural Lancashire!
