Lancashire fair is a hit
Queens, flower children, dancers and bands entertained crowds at this year’s spectacular Goosnargh and Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival.
Sun-kissed crowds gathered from 1pm on Saturday outside the Grapes Inn and St Mary’s Church, in Goosnargh Lane, and in Oliverson’s School playground for the annual event.
The procession started at 2pm after dancing by the village maypole dancers and the Carol May Academy of Dance and Performing Arts.

A twinning ceremony also took place in Canada with the Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival, which was attended by former village queens Daisy and Poppy Haresnape, who are also sisters and festival committee members.
