For the love of P.G. Wodehouse
Written by John Chapman, the drama is based on one of the great P.G. Wodehouse’s most iconic characters, Lord Emsworth, the daydreaming peer and master of Blandings Castle.
Drama Club stalwart, Jeff Brailsford, plays the dozy Ninth Earl while Dennis Yardley is butler Beach.

Hide AdAdapted from Wodehouse’s Blandings Castle stories, all the earl really wants to potter around Blandings, tending his roses and prize pig.
But his sister Lady Constance, has an eye to the future of the line and throws a house party for her brother - inviting Dame Daphne Winkworth (Liz Proctor, whom the Earl finds himself being urged, much against his will, to marry.
The earl’s quiet life is also disrupted by his vacuous son Freddie Threepwood, played by Dominic Dwyer, by clumsy lovelorn curate the Rev. Rupert Bingham (Jonathan Knapp) and by his arch enemy, Sir Gregory Parsloe-Parsloe. played by Eddie Regan.
Writer John Chapman, who later also penned a sitcom series, Blandings Castle, for the BBC, trained as an actor but became a playwright after three years on the boards, when his first play, Dry Rot, was a huge success.
