Headteacher, Mr Chris Horrocks said: “It was fantastic to return to celebrating the GCSE results with parents and pupils on site, following the two previous Covid-19 affected years which required the results to be delivered electronically. The community gathered together in support our young people who we knew had risen to the challenge, and who received their just rewards by attaining the school’s highest ever GCSE results, even when compared to the two previous sets of teacher assessed GCSE grades. So much credit must go to this year’s Year 11 pupils, who weathered the storm of long periods of absence from school due to periods of lockdown and isolation due to contact with those who had contracted the virus, showing both resilience and fortitude to achieve such remarkable results.
"Following receipt of their encouraging results we are confident that the majority of pupils will now access the courses, training and apprenticeships they have applied to for September.”
