House music 'Garden Party' set to be held in Walmer Bridge this summer

A new music festival is planned for Preston this summer - thanks to a teenage house music devotee.
Harry Unsworth from New Longton is the owner of Till? Records, something he combines with studying a business, management and marketing degree at Leeds Beckett University.

Hide AdJust before the pandemic hit, he began organising events for up to 500 people in Leeds. and since lockdown restrictions hit, has been thinking of ways to bring events closer to home.
He said: “There’s nothing really for my generation at home, people go to Manchester and Liverpool for house music events.”
The former All Hallow’s High School pupil researched venues before deciding on Walmer Bridge Village Hall’s field, which has hosted several Stephen Bayliss concert.
Harry said: “It’s got all the licensing we need and we’re hoping for 900 people on there. We’re going under the premise that everything will be normal in terms of Covid restrictions by then, but if not, then we’ll change the date.”

Hide AdAlready half of the tickets for the Preston Garden Party have sold out, which will see a host of mystery international house music stars play on stage on August 14.
The only act Harry has so far announced is DJ Ryan Resso.
Harry added: “We’ve been really impressed with the reaction to it so far, there is definitely an appetite for this in Preston.
“We want to build on it year on year and establish the event on the city’s social calendar.”
