Man arrested after armed police respond to alleged knife threat in Morecambe

Armed police launched a manhunt for the suspect after a man reported being accosted in Chatsworth Road at around 10am.
The man was not injured in the encounter, but police deployed armed officers to search the area and find the suspect.

Hide AdRoad closures were put in place and the public had been asked to avoid the area.
Police confirmed that a 31-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife.
He has since been released under investigation.
Earlier that morning, a spokesperson for Lancashire Police had said: "We were called at shortly after 10am today (Tuesday, June 9) to a report of an assault on Chatsworth Road in Morecambe.
"Officers, including armed officers, attended after a report a man had been threatened by an assailant armed with a knife. Fortunately they were not injured.
"We remain at the scene and a search for the offender is on-going.
"There are road closures in place and people are asked to avoid the area if possible."
