Man nearly knocked down after car drives along footpaths in Moor Park

The red Toyota was spotted driving erratically around the park at around 3.30pm, causing alarm to families and dog walkers strolling along its footpaths.
The car, which has an Irish number plate, was then seen motoring across the grass and churning it up, leaving muddy tyre tracks in its wake.

Hide AdOne man said he had to rush out of its way to avoid being hit after the car came towards him on the footpath.
The car is reportedly one of a number of vehicles parked alongside caravans and motor homes near the park's changing facilities.
The man said he has reported the incident to police, who are aware of an illegal Traveller encampment in the city park.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We have been made aware and enquiries are on-going."

Hide AdPreston City Council said the group are expected to leave the park today.
Councillor Robert Boswell, cabinet member for environment and community safety, said: "Our officers have been liaising with the family group from the travelling community currently on site at Moor Park who state their intention is to leave the Preston area today.
"This is a large public park and it’s hoped disruption to local residents and park users will be minimal."
