PICTURES: Fine for owner of unlicenced and "filthy" doggy daycare centre at Preston farm
Preston Council had warned Anna Charnley, 54, of Go Active Dog Club at Boyes Farm, Durton Lane, Preston, that she required a £172 licence for her activities but she failed to get one.
The authority intervened when two complaints were received from former clients about dogs allegedly being injured.

Hide AdShe admitted keeping an animal boarding establishment without a licence at Preston Magistrates’ Court.
Prosecuting for Preston City Council, Jorge Carrera said officers visited the premises on October 27 last year and found more than 20 dogs a day attended.
The court was told Charnley previosuly changed the name of the business and claimed it was providing “dog agility exercise” which fell outside licensing regulations.
The magistrates were told the perimeter was found to be filthy and certain areas found to be dangerous, including corrugated panelling and sharp pointed wires.

Hide AdHe added: “The conditions were such that if she had applied for a licence she would not have been granted one.
“These unlawful activities have a detrimental effect on properly licensed premises.”
Defending, Rob Kellock said she was of “utmost good character”.
The bench imposed a £165 fine and £30 surcharge and £1,729.44 costs.
