REGIONAL: Man in critical condition after "serious attack" resulting in a collapsed lung
At around 12:55pm on Thursday (April 19) a police officer was flagged down after a 21-year-old man was found unconscious on Devonport Road close to Shaw Street in Blackburn.
Detectives believe the victim was assaulted after walking towards two men on Devonport Road.

Hide AdHe was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment and is currently in a critical condition having suffered head injuries and a collapsed lung.
Following enquiries, two men have been arrested by police in connection with the attack.
Officers are urging anyone with information about the assault to contact police.
Det Chief Insp Marie Haworth, from Blackburn CID, said: “This was a cowardly, callous and unprovoked attack on a man who was knocked unconscious. He is currently in a very poorly condition in hospital.

“If you know anything about the attack please speak to us as soon as possible.”

Two men, both aged 19 and from Blackburn, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in custody.
