Stolen Bentley GT found after police chase in Preston

The Bentley Continental GT was the target of a police chase at 5.30am on Saturday (February 13) after its driver failed to stop when signaled to pull over by officers.
The city's Tact Ops force gave chase but the driver managed to get away, with police checks revealing that the luxury car had been reported stolen from a home in Ashton.

Hide AdLancashire Police said it was the second time in just a matter of weeks that the home had been targeted by burglars seeking to steal the keys to the Bentley.
Tact Ops patrols trawled the city for the luxury car and a police appeal went out on social media to help trace it.
24 hours later, officers found the stolen Bentley abandoned in a street in Fulwood. It was swiftly recovered and inspected by CSI for DNA evidence before being returned to its grateful owner.
Officers involved in the pursuit and subsequent search said the Bentley is the third luxury coupe to be stolen from homes in Preston in the last 6 months.

Hide AdThey said all three cars had been recovered, with one investigation leading to a suspect being arrested. The man had been in the process of moving one of the cars to another part of the UK on false plates.
Preston's Tact Ops force tweeted: "Persistence pays off for #T1TacOps who initially pursued the stolen Bentley. After trawling the area #HO50 found the vehicle in Fulwood. It will now be recovered for CSI and returned to it's owner."
Prior to the successful recovery, the force tweeted: "Can you help find this car? A green Bentley Continental GT V13JCA failed to stop for #T1TacOps in Preston at 5:30am.
"Inquiries revealed the address of the elderly owner in Ashton had been burgled for the 2nd time in recent weeks & the keys stolen. Can you help us reunite them?"

Onlookers reported seeing two men escape from the wrecked BMW and running away before emergency services arrived.
