'Suspicious' death of Preston woman no longer unexplained as police close murder investigation

Police launched an inquiry after attending an address on Fir Trees Avenue, in the Grange area of the city, following a report of a concern for welfare at around 11pm on Sunday (February 16).
When police arrived at the scene the body of a woman was found at the address.

Hide AdShe has since been formally identified as a 29-year-old woman from Preston.
Police launched a murder enquiry following the discovery of her body, but they have now announced her death is no longer "being treated as unexplained."
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "A Home Office post-mortem examination has taken place and has now established that the woman died from natural causes.
"The matter will now be referred to HM Coroner.
"Our thoughts remain with the deceased’s family and friends."
Three people arrested on suspicion of murder have been released without charge.
