The alcohol limit for drivers in Scotland is 50 milligrammes in every 100ml of blood, or 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
South of the border, the limit is 80 milligrammes in every 100ml of blood, or 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
Inspector Neil Morrison said: "The consequences of drink or drug-driving are widely known and it is disappointing that drivers still believe it is acceptable to risk their safety and the safety of others.
