Dave Spikey and Friends raise £10,000 for Croston flood victims
The Whittle-le-Woods funnyman was joined by fellow Phoenix Nights stars Ted Robbins, Steve Royle and Janice Connolly, and comedian Mike Wilkinson at Chorley Little Theatre on Thursday.
After the evening show sold out within 15 minutes, an extra performance was added for the afternoon, which theatre chairman Ian Robinson said was almost full too.

“The feedback from the audience has been great.”
Ian approached Spikey on Twitter to offer the Dole Lane theatre for the show, called ‘Dave Spikey and Friends’, after hearing that the comedian wanted to do something to help the residents and businesses of Croston affected by the floods.
He said Spikey has a ‘good relationship’ with the volunteers who run the theatre, and much of the organising was done through the social media channel.
“It’s very rare we do charity gigs,” Ian explained. “It was a lot of effort and the volunteers here worked really hard, but it’s paid off.
“We’ve probably raised in the region of £10,000 with ticket sales and raffles, which is fantastic.”
