Fire crews rescue trapped driver after car crashes into garage in Lostock Hall

Fire crews from Bamber Bridge responded with two engines after the person was found trapped inside the damaged vehicle at around 9.55am.
The crash involved just the one vehicle, which had struck a brick-built garage in the quiet cul-de-sac off Bridgeway.

Hide AdFirefighters used a number of tools to free the driver who was trapped inside the vehicle, including slings, strops and a trifor.
A fire service spokesman said: "At 9.55am, two fire engines from Bamber Bridge attended a road traffic collision at Bridge End, Lostock Hall.
"The collision involved one vehicle which had collided with a garage and firefighters used winch to extricate one casualty and make the scene safe.
"Firefighters were on the scene for approximately fifty minutes."

Hide AdNorth West Ambulance Service sent paramedics to the scene, but said no-one was taken to hospital.
An NWAS spokesman said: "We were called at 9.59am to reports of an road traffic collision.
"Ambulance and rapid response vehicle went to the scene, but we have not taken anyone to hospital, so don’t think it was serious in terms of injuries."
On Sunday (November 22), fire crews were called out to a house fire in Lostock Hall, after a pair of curtains caught fire from a candle.

Hide AdThe woman was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after she burned her hands trying to pick up the candle and throw it outside.
