Firms on target with football charity event
Warden Construction Ltd hosted their second charity football tournament in support of Galloway’s Society for the Blind raising £2,040.
Richard Kenworthy, managing director from Warden Construction said: “We have a strong emphasis on supporting excellent charities, like Galloway’s, that are local to the areas where we undertake building projects and are delighted to be able to use our contacts within business to be able to organise events such as this.

Hide Ad“In its second year, the tournament aimed to make a difference whilst bringing a number of our clients and suppliers together and, over the two years, we have raised £3,395.”
This year, 16 teams entered the competition with firms including Ameon Ltd, Bowker BMW Preston, Bowker Ltd, CPL Heating & Plumbing Ltd, Danbro, The Football League, Fox Fabrications & Construction, Lustalux Ltd, Met-Excel Ltd, Performance Electrical Ltd, Skills Construction Centre, SMD Group, Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd, Tangerine Group, eThompson & Son Ltd and, of course.
Electrical company, eThompson & Son Ltd beat off strong competition winning the Champions League and Ameon Ltd won the Europa League.
Richard added: “These types of events are not possible without the support of local firms, so we would like to extend our thanks to all those who took part and, in particular, our plant and equipment supplier Smiths Equipment Hire Ltd, who were the main sponsor of the event”.
