Sgt John Wiggans from Preston Police said: “We, along with Martyn’s family, are getting very worried for his welfare and state of mind given the circumstances of his disappearance.
“Our priority is to find him and so if anyone may have taken his bike or knows someone who has recently got a bike like this that they think may be stolen, we want to speak to them.
“I would like to reassure people that this isn’t about prosecuting the person who might have taken it but about finding out the bike’s location which may lead us to Martyn.”
