Kart track bid in Bamber Bridge could provide jobs boost
TeamSport - one of the UK’s largest indoor karting firms - has submitted a bid for the Walton Summit Industrial Estate in Bamber Bridge.
The details are now under consideration by planning officers at South Ribble Council.

Hide AdAccording to application documents, if given the green light, the track would create up to 40 jobs and make a “positive contribution to the local economy.”
The firm added: “At each of their existing venues TeamSport employs a large number of 16 to 25-year-olds with a significant proportion living in the local area.
“TeamSport actively works with The Skills Partnership, to provide access to an NVQ scheme, giving all employees the opportunity to gain relevant qualifications in areas such as customer service and management.”
The unit at the Brierley Road industrial estate is currently vacant and has been since May last year, according to the planning documents.

Hide AdThe application is asking for the council to grant change of use permission and was submitted earlier in August.
The documents read: “The proposals will secure a long term and sustainable employment generating use for a vacant site which is currently providing no benefits.”
