Morecambe's lifeboat crew search for man in water
At 11pm last night, Tuesday July 24, HM Coastguard requested Morecambe’s RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew to search for a man, believed to be in low mood, who was reported to have been seen entering the water in the vicinity of the Morecambe Sailing Club slipway, opposite Morecambe Town Hall.
The inshore lifeboat and inshore rescue hovercraft were quickly launched and they proceeded to conduct an extensive search of the immediate and surrounding areas for the man, supported by police officers and local coastguards searching from the shore, and Coastguard helicopter Rescue 936 (based in Caernarfon) from the air.
