Re: Broughton crossroads. Can no one understand road signs?
Since the bypass opened last October, there is a group of people who do not read road signs.
They ignore the Give Way, No Trucks except Access and 20mph signs...

They just carry on and, as a result, lots of cars of law-abiding drivers, who are passing east to west on the B road, get hit.
I hope they are not locals, as some sat navs still have the incorrect route, but I would have thought that most people have at some point passed their driving test and know the Highway Code.
The works start shortly on the road to narrow it, enhance the village and give the Guild Wheel its own lane but, until they start, do we have to put up with these bad drivers?

Hide AdBringing back the traffic lights will not make any difference except to delay the east west traffic, but enforcement of the speed limits, the give way signs and the trucks going through would.
BUT, more importantly, we need the car drivers to
be sensible and obey the signs.
Our city councillors and Coun Iddon, the county cabinet member, have done all they can.

road safety
Target red
light culprits
I was in Preston city centre today and there were numerous cars driving the full length of Fishergate. No doubt they will all receive fines in the post.
If the cash-strapped council needs to raise money then it needs to liaise with the police to have more cameras covering people driving through red lights at junctions. Routinely, two or three cars go through on red at each traffic light.

Engineers and credentials
In last Friday’s News in Numbers section, it was reported that one third of women allow gas engineers into their home without asking for credentials (LP May 4).
