An overnight snowfall brought chaos to the town on Tuesday morning and Worsthorne resident Alex Mann resigned herself to not receiving her delivery order from the town's Asda store.
Her husband, Ian, had already left for work at 7am and reported seeing several cars stranded in the snow.

Forced to leave his van at the foot of the housing estate where Alex lives, he had loaded the order onto a trolley and dragged it backwards through the snow.
Legal trainee Alex, who has a daughter Elena (11) said: "I saw a figure dragging a wheeled trolley backwards through the slippy snow, it was just like seeing the 'Milk Tray' man.
"I put my wellies on and went outside to see if I could help. The boxes was shoulder height and I could see he was out of breath but I was so pleased to see him."

She said: " He said that as people did not want to go out in these times he would make sure that everyone on his list would get their shopping."
Alex then discovered that the person she saw who went to the aid of a neighbour was also Wajid!
She said: "He told me he dug it out and reversed it for them. What a hero."
Alex posted about Wajid's good deeds on social media and he has since received dozens of comments of praise and thanks.
