Dad of five Wajid Hussain, who has only worked at the Asda store in Burnley for four months, won praise all over social media for his valiant efforts after this week's heavy overnight snowfall.
Customer Alex Mann had given up hope of seeing her shopping on Tuesday so she was stunned and delighted when she saw Wajid hauling the shoulder height boxes on foot uphill to her home in Lindsay Park, Worsthorne.

Hide AdAlex took to social media to thank Wajid for going 'above and beyond' the call of duty and she described him as the 'Milk Tray man,' the fictional character from a series of popular TV ads who carried out a range of James Bond style missions to deliver a box of chocolates.
Included in Alex's order were supplies for her mum and also special food and champagne to celebrate her wedding anniversary with her husband, Ian this weekend.
Alex added: "Wajid really did go above and beyond the call of duty. He was brilliant. He wasn't bothered about himself at all, just about the customer which was really nice.
"If we hadn't have got our shop that day we'd have probably been living off tinned food and ice pops."

Hide AdWajid said it was nice to receive praise but he was determined on the day to make sure all his customers received their orders.
He said: "My van couldn't get to the address where I wanted to get to so I had to get there on foot and they had a pretty heavy delivery as well.
" The lady was very grateful which was nice and her comments on facebook were really appreciated.
"I had to walk to about half my deliveries that day because of the snow, but I had to make them as some of them were vulnerable customers. I love my job and I wanted to make sure all my customers got their deliveries."

Hide AdDescribing Wajid as 'really modest' Burnley's Asda store manager Chris Hart said: "He was touched by the nice comments on Facebook and it was nice of the customer to take the time out to praise him.
"He's is a good guy and very committed. He gets on well with his customers and we always get good feedback about him. He just has a nice way about him, so what he did was no great surprise.
"We are proud of Wajid and all our drivers who have worked really hard in the snow to make sure all the deliveries got through."
