Following the death of Prince Philip on Friday aged 99, we decided to take a look at some of the activities across the county down the years.
1. Duke of Edinburgh gold awards
2016: Mary Winterflood, who has recently been awarded the BEM for services to the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, gives several AKS students their Gold Award. She is pictured with 6th form pupil Hester Cox and operations manager for DofE award, Thomas Kelly.
2. Highfield Humanities College
2007: Pupils from Highfield Humanities College taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme are cycling to raise funds for an expedition next year to Namibia.
3. Claremont Boys School
2006: Pupils of Claremont Boys School, North shore are pictured leaving the school for Grizedale Fell, near Garstang for a 24 hour adventure which will be their first step in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme
4. Aiming for the top
