Alfie did the Race for Life last year and decided to run the race again this year to raise more money for Cancer Research.
He is running with mum Rachelle, whose life he saved when he rang for help after finding her doubled up in pain on the floor at family home.
Since them he has put together a plan of action for classmates and pals at Ist Longsands Beavers so they would know what to do in an emergency.

“He absolutely loves running. He runs at school and we go running and out on our bikes every week.
“He decided to do it last year as we lost my grandmother the November previous. She didn’t have cancer, he just wanted to run in her memory. Both my grandfather’s passed away from cancer I’m just so proud of him, we all are.
“He’s always wanting to help others wherever he can and this is just another example of it.”
