Town leisure centre revamp plan to be helped by £45,000 consultants
Wyre Council revealed earlier this year that, following extensive consultation, it plans to invest £2.3m in building a new swimming pool and improving facilities at Garstang Leisure Centre.
The decision came following rumours that the council was considering shutting the centre down.

Now consultants Max Associates, who were employed by the council to undertake the leisure review in the first place, are set to be kept on to aid the design process and the eventual work, at a cost of up to £45,000.
A report to members of the council said: “It is also considered that Max Associates should be engaged once again to assist the Council, particularly with respect to further due diligence on the business case for each facility, assistance with the Design and Build procurement route and to assist with mobilisation etc on completion/handover of the new facilities.”
