Lanes reopen after two separate multi-vehicle collisions on M55

Emergency services rushed to the scene of two separate multi-vehicle collisions on the M55 today (March 5).
Two out of three lanes were temporarily closed on the M55 eastbound between junctions 3 (Wesham) and 1 (Broughton).

Hide AdTraffic officers were at the scene along with Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance and INRIX.
Highways has confirmed the incident has been cleared out of live lanes and the motorway is now fully running.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 11.15am today to reports of a vehicle which had collided with the central reservation.
"It's unclear if the accidents were linked or how many vehicles were involved in the collisions at the moment as the incident is still ongoing."

Hide AdIt is not yet known if anyone was injured in the collisions.
A spokesperson for Highways said: "Two lanes are temporarily closed M55 eastbound J3 Wesham and J1 Broughton due two separate multi vehicle collisions."
There was slow traffic in the area as a result of the collisions, according to the AA.
North West Ambulance Service, Lancashire Fire and Rescue and Lancashire Police have been approached for comment.
