Police update as A59 reopens after man's body is found in road near Chatburn

The road had been closed in both directions, between Sawley Road and Worston Road, whilst police investigated the circumstances of the man's death.
Lancashire Police have now completed their investigation and say his death is not being treated as suspicious.

Hide AdThe force said it believes the man has fallen from the Downham Road bridge crossing the A59 near Chatburn.
A police spokesman said: "The A59 close to Chatburn has now reopened after a man's body was found in the carriageway.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family at this sad and difficult time."

Hide AdEmergency services had been called at around 9.15am, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier this morning, a police spokesman for the Ribble Valley said: "We are currently at the scene of an incident on the A59 close to Chatburn.
"The road has been closed after the body of a man was found in the carriageway.
"Emergency services have attended with the man sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
