Preston traffic delays after pedestrian struck by car in Tulketh Brow

Police closed Tulketh Brow after the man, aged in his 20s, was knocked down near the roundabout and railway bridge at around 6.45am.
An ambulance and a rapid response paramedic attended and found the man suffering from head injuries.

Hide AdHe was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment, but North West Ambulance Service said it was unable to comment on his current condition.
The incident was reported to police and the road was closed whilst officers made enquiries about the collision.
Tulketh Brow was shut both ways, between Stocks Road and Fylde Road/Water Lane, before reopening at around 10am.
The closure led to heavy traffic in the area, with some drivers diverted along Waterloo Road and others told to turn back towards Fylde Road.

Hide AdPolice have now left the scene and traffic has returned to normal.
Statements from police and ambulance service
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “One ambulance and a rapid response vehicle was sent to Fylde Road, Ashton on Ribble, at 6.34am to a man suffering head injuries following a road traffic collision.
“The patient was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.”
A police spokesman added: “We were called around 6.45am today by the Ambulance Service to a collision in Fylde Road, Ashton-on-Ribble.
“It was reported a car had been involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
“The pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Road closures were put in place.”
