'Serious collision' involving wagon and car causes road closure in Whalley

A road has been closed in Whalley due to a "serious crash" involving a wagon in Whalley.
A Citroen C3 and a wagon were involved in a collision on Clitheroe Road at around 1.45pm today (Thursday, February 20).
It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the collision.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called around 1.45pm today to reports of a serious collision in Whalley.
"A Citroen C3 and wagon had been involved in a collision on Clitheroe Road.
"Emergency services are at the scene and the road is blocked.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area."
The closure is affecting traffic between Clitheroe and Langho, according to the AA.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Ribble Valley Police said: "A section of the A59 between Petre roundabout, Langho and Bramley Mead roundabout, Whalley will remain closed for up to another 4 hours following a serious collision earlier this afternoon.
"Diversions are in place."
The North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
