Warning that '˜confusing' bollard is not a roundabout
It comes after a silver Audi hit the stone pillar at the junction of Fishergate and Corporation Street on Monday, knocking it over.
It is the latest in a series of accidents at the site, and according to feedback from Evening Post readers, there is confusion as to its purpose.

Paul Ellithorn said: “The problem is no signage to show its a roundabout.”
But Daniel Herbert of Lancashire County Council (LCC), said: “It is important to make it clear that there is not a mini-roundabout at the junction of Corporation Street and Fishergate.
“The junction operates as a T-junction, but giving equal priority to all road users, with drivers taking care and giving way as appropriate.

“The Fishergate scheme has been successful in encouraging most people to drive more carefully and safely through this area.
“Following the latest incident, we’re looking at ways to further highlight the road layout for drivers, to stop incidents like this in the future.”
Writing on Facebook, Nik Kershaw said: “Every month or so I hear about this thing claiming another victim. People obviously can’t see it for whatever the reason, or lack of driving ability.”
