Children's charity NSPCC appeal for more runners and volunteers ahead of the weekend's City of Preston 10k
As one of the four official charity partners of the City of Preston 10k, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is appealing for Lancashire folk to lace up their running trainers for the race.
The NSPCC is an official race partner alongside JD Gyms Foundation and Preston charities Heartbeat and Baby Beat.

Hide AdJanette Drew, community fundraising manager for the NSPCC, said: “I want to say a huge thank you to JD Gyms for having the NSPCC as a charity partner.
“This is such a fantastic event for the whole community to get involved in and we want to see lots of Team NSPCC runners on the day for both the 10K and the fun run.”
The race is coming to Preston on Sunday and is open to people of all ages and abilities.
The race will start at 9.30am in the heart of the city, passing the Harris Museum and Flag Market before going through Avenham Park and along the River Ribble to London Road.

This year is the first time the race will be run under the guidance of Sports Tours International after previous organiser Steve Ashcroft announced he would no longer be putting the event together.
