The result leaves Preston sitting in 16th place in the table, now a solid 13 points clear of the relegation zone with six matches to go - although Rotherham United's four games in hand over some teams, including the Lilywhites, does complicate things a little.
Speaking after the big win, Preston's interim head coach Frankie McAvoy revealed that he's looking to present a calmer persona on the touchline, and claimed: “That is something where I need get a wee bit more composure. I tried to be calmer in the Norwich game and I felt it was a bit of a learning curve.
“I do need to calm down at times, not get as involved as I was doing. When you’re down there on the touchline you just want the best for your side and want them to win.”
Preston return to action this weekend, when they round off a trio of matches against teams pushing for promotion with a clash against Thomas Frank's Brentford - who are without a win in four games - at Deepdale.
