Preston North End waiting for clarification on whether new Covid-19 restrictions will hit plans to allow fans back in stadiums

The plan currently is for football grounds to have crowds back in limited numbers from October 1.
But new restrictions on gatherings of people announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the news conference on Wednesday afternoon, could see those plans changed.

Hide AdThe PM said that the plans for fans to return to sports stadium would have to be put under 'review' but stressed they would not be scrapped.
A statement from Peter Ridsdale on PNE's official website said: "We are aware of the latest update from the Prime Minister and the potential impact of this on the return of fans to stadiums.
"As soon as we have clarification on if and how this may affect the return of supporters to Deepdale from the start of October we will provide a further update.
"Once we have this clarification, we acknowledge we may need to review our season card pricing policy and again, we will update supporters as soon as we have more details on this."
North End's first home game after the planned lifting on the ban on spectators is against Cardiff City on October 17.
