Alan takes a long walk for charity
Keen walker Alan Houston, 67, will take on the Dales Way Long Distance Trail next month
Alan from Canberra Road, in Leyland, will be walking from Ilkley in Yorkshire to Bowness, Cumbria to raise funds for the charity.

Hide AdAlan who said he likes walking because it helps keep the weight off, will begin the walk on July 6 and hopes to finish five days later on July 11.
He expects to average 14 miles a day and is funding the walk himself so that all donations will go to the charity.
Alan, whose daughter in law, Cathy is Conductive Education Classroom Assistant at Rainbow House, said: “Rainbow House provides a unique service for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities through conductive education and physiotherapy.
“It is crucial to the well-being of so many children, young people and adult and even more impressive when you realise that they have to raise all of their own funds.
“Any money that I can raise for them will be well spent.”

Hide AdCarole Cochrane, Chief Executive, Rainbow House, said “It is fantastic that Alan is raising funds for us as every penny counts.
“He is going to use a GPS system to measure his travel each day and we look forward to hearing about his progress.”
